Seiko has teamed up with Japan-born, Australia-based artist Kentaro Yoshida for a special limited-edition collection of Seiko 5 Sports watches, offering a unique fusion of artistic flair and functionality. Drawing inspiration from Yoshida’s journey as an artist and his surf-centered lifestyle in Australia, this vibrant trio of timepieces showcases his signature nature-inspired designs. The dials feature Yoshida’s iconic skeleton characters and are infused with elements of Australian culture, such as native flowers, rolling surf, and the surf lifesaving flag.

Yoshida, originally from a rural fishing village in Toyama, Japan, moved to Sydney at the age of 18 to pursue the English language, sunny beaches, and a more balanced lifestyle. Nearly two decades later, he’s become one of Sydney’s most sought-after artists, collaborating with renowned brands like Apple, BMW, and Levi’s. His latest collaboration with Seiko brings his artistic vision to life in a series of three limited-edition timepieces, each limited to just 500 individually numbered pieces in Australia.

The Seiko 5 Sports x Kentaro Yoshida Limited Edition collection is powered by Seiko’s automatic calibre 4R36 movement, offering a 41-hour power reserve and day/date functionality. These watches are water-resistant up to 100 meters and feature Seiko’s Hardlex mineral glass on both the front and back. The exhibition casebacks are tinted to match the watch’s color scheme and proudly display Yoshida’s logo. Each timepiece is presented in a specially designed metal tin, complete with exclusive Yoshida artwork.

SRPL27K: Wild Plants & Flowers.Representing growth and renewal, this model features a vibrant green dial adorned with intricate motifs inspired by wild plants and blooming flowers. A stainless steel case paired with a green nylon strap creates a harmonious, monochromatic design.

The Limited Edition SRPL27K features a black Stainless Steel case with a diameter of 42.5mm and thickness of 13.4mm. The lug-to-lug size is 46mm and it has a lug width is 22mm. The SRPL27K features the Seiko calibre 4R36 with automatic and manual winding functionality, a daily time tolerance of +45 / -30 seconds per day and a 41 hour power reserve.

The watch is rated as 100m / 10 bar WR and features lumibrite on the hands and markers, hardlex glass, a day and date display, a see-through case back and a unidirectional rotating bezel and is shipped in a special edition Tin.
